If you are getting married you know there is a lot of work put into a wedding. Some of the work that has to be done you should hire professional services to do for you instead of asking your friends or family. Below are two of these things so you can determine if they would be right for your wedding.

Photographer

The photographs taken at your wedding will be your most precious possessions and you will look at them throughout your life. For this reason, you should not ask a family member or friend to do your wedding photographs unless they are a professional.  A professional will know how to take pictures in the proper light and can capture special moments throughout the evening. They can also take videos of your wedding, if you prefer, along with the photographs. The photographs will be given to you on a CD so you can share them with your friends and family.

When you hire a photographer, ask them to show you past photographs of weddings they have done. This will show you how good they are at their job. Also, ask them how much experience they have and if they use professional camera equipment.

Caterer

A caterer can be a big help to you, especially if you are having a large reception. Visit caterers in your area and talk with them about the type of food you want to serve at your wedding. Once you come up with a menu, ask them to make each dish so you and your future spouse can taste the food. Ask the caterer how many weddings they have done in the past.

Ask the caterer if they are licensed. This is important because this shows their business has met health department standards. This also shows that they carry liability insurance. If you are planning to have alcohol at your wedding reception, the caterer needs to have a liquor license.

Ask the caterer if they specialize in different types of foods, such as gluten-free, sugar free, ethnic, or organic. This is just in case someone requests this type of food to you. This way everyone can be satisfied.  The caterer should also work with fresh food instead of only frozen food.

Ask your friends to help you select a photographer and a caterer. This will be two things you can check off your long list of things you have to do to prepare for your wedding day.
